These are a few of my favorite things…

In case you’ve missed the first few lists of faves, here they are!

Round 1

Round 2

Round 3

Round 4

And now for Round 5…

*Yogi Tea. I’ve bought several varieties of this tea, but we particularly like this one. Chai Black. We also like the Detox tea they make. It’s very tasty with a lot of great spiced flavors. I buy it at Drug Emporium for about $4. It says on the back you should sit Indian-style on the floor and breath deeply before (or while) drinking…um, yeah – we don’t do that.

*My new Ivey Expressions wristlet purse & 3 wrap braided fabric bracelet. Love the stuff Joanna makes! This size purse is perfect for me. I can fit my phone, my wallet and my chapstick…I’m good to go! And when I’m out & about w/the girls, it’s handy to throw around your wrist and not have to hold anything. That way I’m better prepared to hold a hand, catch falling glass in a store, or break up a fight if you know what I”m sayin. The new bracelets she’s selling are super cute too – her daughter helps make them. You can choose your fabric!

*Auquafresh Extreme Clean toothpaste. Best toothpaste ever, hands down. All the little microbubbly cleaning action makes your mouth & teeth feel so clean & shiny. I can’t wait to brush my teeth every morning & every night! Ha…just kidding – geez, do you think I would seriously be that excited about toothpaste?! :) But for real, it’s good stuff.

*This adorable apron that my sweet friend Jen gave me for my birthday! I sport this thing all the time while in the kitchen. Considering I’m a mess in (& out) of the kitchen, I appreciate the extra protection & have used considerably less stain remover thanks to this lovely gift.

*White Chocolate pudding. Oh yes. This creamy dessert costs less than $1, is enough to fix my family of 4’s sweet tooth, and is zero fat grams. It’s just plain good. If you want to splurge, you can add whipped cream and chocolate shavings on top…mmm, mmm! Side note: Yes, I wear my apron while making this pudding..so!!!

*My $12 never-have-to-fix-my-hair-again Target hat. This has been my fro’s saving grace this summer.

*Last, but certainly not least, my High Five to the Sky keychain. Our friend Corie gave this to me & my siblings the day of the 5k. It’s engraved with “H52S” on the front and has a pic of my dad running in a race when you open the locket. What a thoughtful & meaningful gift. Brought tears to my eyes, I love it so much. And I carry it proudly every day and can look at his pic anytime, anywhere.

10 New Faves.

1. Veggie Wash. Organic cleaner for fruits & veggies. Spray it on, rub it, and rinse it. Easy & cleans all toxins & chemicals off what you are ingesting!

2. Our Puma Faas 500’s. Love them! Love the colors, love the way they feel, love how light-weight they are. Pretty certain Ryan and I will both be purchasing a second pair of these bad boys.

3. McAlister’s Sweet Tea. So refreshing and so tasty! This tea ranks up there with my Mom’s. Shout out to our friend, Stephen Lee (Regional Director, McAlister’s).

4. TCBY’s White Chocolate Mousse. Mmm, mmm…creamy deliciousness! Tyler just got a TCBY a few weeks ago, and I believe we’ve been there at least once (or twice) each week since it opened. Good thing it’s 98% fat free!

5. NOW Sunflower Seeds. This bag of seeds is less than $4 at Drug Emporium and SO good. Love to add these to salads, yogurt, oatmeal, or just eat handfuls right out of the bag. The girls love these too! Healthy snack.

6. Quaker’s new Hearty Medley’s Oatmeal with fruits & nuts. I heart oatmeal for breakfast. I usually buy plain oatmeal then mix in cranberries and either walnuts or almonds  – so this is right up my alley!

7. Suave’s Sleek Anti-Frizz Cream. I’ve tried multiple (expensive) creams throughout my years. Seriously this is like $2 and works great on my hair and has lasted many months with still about half left! $2 well spent, for sure. Just use a dab before blow-drying and it helps contain my craziness. Smells good too!

8. This is probably one of my favorite snacks lately. Cracked Pepper & Olive Oil Triscuits with Laughing Cow Creamy Swiss cheese. Makes for a great late night snack with a glass of red!

9. Mile Markers by Kristin Armstrong. I’m almost done with this book. Very inspirational on many levels – from parenting to friendship to running. Every time I read a chapter, I want to go out and run!

10. Ivey Expression Wristlet. I love this thing! It’s a perfect size for my wallet and my iPhone. I can carry it around my wrist while I’m out and about with the kids and not have to lug around a huge bag. Plus, it’s really cute! My cousin-in-law, Joanna, makes these and sales them here along with some other really neat items.

Recent Faves: Part 3

1. Stacy’s Pita Chips: OMG. I could easily devour a whole bag of these all by myself. So good with hot sauce, hummus, or by themselves. Mmm mmm.

2. Saucony Grid Cohesions: $40 running shoes that seriously rock. And the fact that they are $40 makes them rock even harder. I ran our last few half marathons in these bad boys & just bought another pair at Academy.

3. St. Ives Fresh Skin Cleanser. I bought this recently because I was bound and determined to find a cheaper option than my normal $18 Origins cleanser. This was $3 at Drug Emporium and I have always liked their scrubs, so I thought I’d give it a shot. Surprisingly, I love it! It works well, smells nice & makes my skin feel soft. Plus, it’s $3!

4. Karen Kingsbury’s Firstborn Series: I’m on #3 out of 5 and absolutely loving reading these books! They are Christian fiction. Page-turners & very inspirational! I look forward to reading all of her other books when I finish this series.

Some recent faves.

A while back, I posted about a few of my faves. Time for round #2!

1. Life is Good Snuggle Socks. Soft, warm, thick & cozy. My Aunt Debbie bought these for me at the Life is Good store in Boston and I heart them. I have pretty much worn them every night for the last two weeks. So comfy!

2. Keurig Coffee Machine. A friend of ours has a business where he provides companies with a commercial version of this machine and then supplies their coffee pods to them on a regular basis. Clever huh? He has asked us to help him with some marketing ideas and ways to make more sales and in return bought us a machine so we could try out all the coffee…bonus! It has been awesome to have a fresh, hot cup of coffee on these cool Fall days whenever we want without having to brew a whole pot. Plus, the coffee is really, very good!

3. Chocolate Milk. I’ve always read that drinking chocolate milk post-run helps aid the body in muscle recovery. So, a couple of months ago we decided to give this a try after our long runs. Do you know how good a tall, cold glass of chocolatey goodness taste after running? Surprisingly, its awesome and has honestly helped me a ton. I used to have stomach issues after running anything past 8 miles (I will spare you the details). But since I’ve started downing some good ole creamy chocolate milk…no more tummy probs! Now, I crave it near the end of a run. I’ve officially added it to the list of my running “must-haves.”

4. Andy’s Pumpkin Pie Concrete. Imagine some delicious vanilla custard. Now picture a whole piece of tasty pumpkin pie. Ok, are you ready for this? Imagine someone putting the piece of pie, yes the whole piece, into the custard and mixing it up and handing it to you with a spoon and a smile. That’s the way Andy’s does it and oh my word. Its ridiculous. And sadly seasonal, so we plan to go there often over the next few weeks!

A few of my latest faves.

Over the past couple of months, I started to have some patches of eczema on my face. I guess the cold weather was drying out my face – and probably running in it didn’t help. I had these dry patches that itched like crazy & would get red and then peel. Not fun! So I tried a ton of different stuff and even went to the Dr. But this Origins moisturizer has been the one thing that has helped. I use it every morning and every night and my face has been so much better. I love this stuff!

Bear Naked’s Original granola is the bomb.com. I love it in yogurt, in my oatmeal, or by itself. Plus, its packed with protein! Makes for a healthy, yet tasty little afternoon treat.

Stanley’s Bar-B-Q here in Tyler = amazing. Seriously. The brother-in-law sandwich is ridiculous…chopped brisket with sausage & cheese. Delicious! This place has such a cool vibe. This definitely ranks at the top of our favorite restaurants!

We are reading through this book in our community group. Just finished Chapter 7 and I must say, its rocking my socks off. Seriously giving me a much needed kick in the rear. If you haven’t read it, you should check it out. But prepare youself to be challenged. Awesome.
